Wild bergamot (Monarda fistulosa) is an upright native perennial in the Mint family with fragrant foliage, profuse wispy  pink to lavender flower heads in mid-summer. Grows at up to 9,000 ft. elevation. Hardy to Zone 3. Plant grows 1 to 3 feet in height, spreads to 3 feet. Full sun to partial shade, well-drained soils. Good air circulation will lessen powdery mildew to which Monardas are prone.
